Inspired by those made in the 1950s, this long sleeve thick stripe tee is made from a 280 GSM heavyweight slub cotton jersey, breathable, soft and comfortable. This style of T-shirt was favored by American motorcycle riders in the middle of the last century.

The two-tone wide stripe tee became synonymous with the outlaw biker scene of the 1950s. Resembling prison stripes, club members adopted these jerseys as a counter-cultural rejection of the dapper pre-war motorcycle style. For many veterans, motorcycling replaced wartime experiences, and post-war socializing itself was seen as anti-establishment. This rugged, casual style redefined American motorcycle clubs, especially within the “Outlaw” clubs on the fringes of biker culture.

The media’s sensationalism of the 1947 Hollister Riot further cemented the image of bikers as rebels. Classic American films in the 1950s and 60s often used the wide stripe tee to symbolize anti-establishment attitudes.
